Silver and Roman Glass Pin with Ancient Carved Menorah

This silver and glass pin features a silver panel in the center that is decorated with a depiction of an ancient seven branch Menorah together with leaves. The panels are edged by panels of Roman Glass that sit in silver a silver border and area brightly colored. The bottom of the pin features three sets of red stones that are attached to the pin by hooks.

The design on this pin comes from the 4th century CE and features a replica of Roman Glass that was found near the coast of Israel. The glass is brightly colored and was formed using the traditional method of forming glass by a blow pipe and furnace. The coloring comes from weathering and erosion due to time and weather. The Menorah in the center is inspired by a seven branch Menorah found near Tiberias and has been dated to the Byzantine Era.

This pin comes with a certificate from the Israel Museum as well as a small pamphlet with background information in Hebrew and English.
