Blue Stainless Steel Hamsa Bookend with 19th Century Jerusalem Design

This amazing dark blue stainless steel Hamsa bookend features a large Hamsa attached to a flat rectangular steel panel that has the logo of the Israel Museum near the bottom. The Hamsa features bird heads in place of the pinky and thumb that have details such as eyes and beaks. The middle of this Hamsa is decorated with a large Star of David that has a cut-out Hebrew letter “Heh” in the center in a large font. This item is a perfect housewarming gift idea!

The Hamsa is an ancient symbol of good luck that was also used to ward off the evil eye. Its name comes from the Arabic word for the number five. This design of Hamsa was popular in North African Synagogues.

This Hamsa comes with a certificate from the Israel Museum as well as a small pamphlet with background information in Hebrew and English.
