Blue Silk Wall Hanging with Italian Priestly Blessing

This fascinating blue and silver embroidered blessing features a unique design that comes from 18th Century Italy and features the Priestly Blessing in the center in a clear Hebrew font. The Hebrew text is surrounded by a doorway that symbolizes the Synagogue and Temple and is edged with floral patterns, a small Menorah with seven branches and one of the divine names of G-d at the top. The wall hanging has beads at the top and bottom and a large loop so it can be hung on the wall. This item is a great housewarming gift idea!

The Priestly Blessing (Birkat Kohanim) is recited daily in Israel and in Sephardi communities during the morning service and during holidays amongst the Ashkenazi communities of Europe. The text of the blessing comes from the Book of Numbers, Chapter Six and provides divine protection, peace and success in all endeavors.

This blessing comes with a certificate from the Israel Museum as well as a small pamphlet with background information in Hebrew and English.
