After Ron Paul’s strong second place showing in New Hampshire last night, it looks like Mitt Romney is the clear front runner in the race for the Republican nomination, and that Ron Paul is Romney’s only hurdle.

Would he be good for Israel? This is a question that many Jewish voters have in mind before they punch the chad through the ballot on election day. For Jewish Republican primary voters, the question can be even more pointed given that most republican Jews are also staunchly Zionist. What follows is an outline and extrapolation of how current republican candidates may behave towards Israel once elected. A new “accidental microphone” gaffe happened yesterday when President Obama and French President Sarkozy were in a room at the UN discussing Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. The heart of our tragedy is that our citizens no longer dare to demand something more substantial than walls, concrete bunkers, bullet proof bests, gas masks, Iron Domes, and Windbreaker anti missile systems. Regarding true security, there hasn’t been anything to talk about for a long time.

Yes, the world is ripped by war. No, this is not breaking news. Such a shred in the patchwork of humanity’s fabric is ancient. If race were not the cause, then clan would be; if religion didn’t made us cranky, other differences and tinges of temperance would ignite war. Perhaps, as humans, it is our nature.
