Silver Plated Pendant with First Century Melqarth Depiction

This silver plated pendant features the design from the back of a Shekel coin that has an image of the Phoenician god Melqarth on the front.

This silver plated pendant has been modeled after an ancient coin found at Qumran and depicts the Phoenician god Melqarth on the front who was also known as Heracles. The pendant looks identical to an ancient silver Shekel and has a find polished surface. The pendant’s design comes from a hoard of 561 coins found at Qumran and have been dated to the first century and likely minted in the city of Tyre in Lebanon. This item is a great holiday gift idea!

This pendant comes with a certificate from the Israel Museum as well as a small pamphlet with background information in Hebrew and English.
