This silver pendant features a 19th century design that includes the abbreviations for the Ana Bekoach prayer and has a small turquoise stone in the center.

This silver pendant features a unique shape and is inscribed on the front with Hebrew text that appears around a small turquoise stone that sits in the center. The text on this amulet features the text of the Ana Bekoach prayer, a Kabbalistic prayer in which the initial letter of each of its 42 words spells out a divine name of G-d and has been attributed to Rabbi Nehunia Ben Hakana, one of the leaders of the Jewish world during the era of the Mishnah. This item is an excellent gift for the frequent traveler!

Amulets were used in Judaism as a way to avoid spiritual harm and cure certain illnesses. They usually included Kabbalistic texts as well as verses from the Torah as well as codes and acrostics. The name of the wearer was sometimes included in order to provide addition protection.

This pendant comes with a certificate from the Israel Museum as well as a small pamphlet with background information in Hebrew and English.
