Silver Brooch Pin with Pomegranate Half

This silver pin features a unique shape that mimics a pomegranate and is based on an artifact found in ancient Jerusalem. The brooch also features an inscription on the back in ancient Hebrew that translates into English as “Belonging to the Temple of G-d and holy to the priests”. This item is a great Rosh Hashanah gift idea!

The pomegranate is one of the Seven Species the Land of Israel is blessed with in the Book of Deuteronomy (Devarim). It is considered to be a symbol of fertility in Judaism and is a popular motif in Jewish art. Pomegranates also appeared on the garments of the High Priest as well as on the bronze columns that stood at the entrance of the Temple and were known as Yakhin and Boaz.

This pin comes with a certificate from the Israel Museum as well as a small pamphlet with background information in Hebrew and English.
