Terracotta Bread, Meat and Fish Plate with Yiddish Text and Scene

This terracotta plate features Yiddish text and Stars of David on its outer rim and has a depiction of chickens with stalks of wheat in the center.

This unique terracotta plate features a design from 19th Century Russia that includes Yiddish text, male and female chickens and wheat sheaves. The wheat and chickens sit in the middle of the plate while the Yiddish text runs along the outer rim. The Yiddish text reads “Broyt fleish und fish izt freilich bein tish and means “Bread, meat and fish bring happiness to the table” in English. The Yiddish text is accented by Stars of David and makes this item a perfect addition to any Judaica collection.
This item is great gift for the lover of Yiddish culture.

This plate comes with a certificate from the Israel Museum as well as a small pamphlet with background information in Hebrew and English.
