Glass Plate with 4th Century Roman Gold Leaf Design

This handsome glass plate has a detailed gold leaf pattern in the center and has a frosted outer rim. The gold leaf decoration on this plate includes a large Menorah in the center that has seven branches and echoes the Menorah lit in the Tabernacle. The plate’s design features additional Judaica items, including an oil flask, palm branch, etrog and Shofar and also has an image of the Ark at the top that appears to be holding several scrolls. The plate also features small doves and lions at the top and bottom. The design for this plate came from a glass plate made in Rome in the 4th Century and makes it a great addition to a Judaica collection.
This item is a great wedding or housewarming gift idea!

This plate comes with a certificate from the Israel Museum as well as a small pamphlet with background information in Hebrew and English.
