Pewter Dreidel with Scrollwork and Bezalel Art School Design

This pewter Dreidel features thin scrollwork lines on the sides together with Hebrew letters and is shaped like a diamond.

This pewter Dreidel features the Hebrew letters Nun, Gimmel, Hey and Shin on each of its sides in a traditional Hebrew font and is accented by scrollwork lines that sit around the letters and near the bottom. This Dreidel’s design comes from a modern interpretation created by the Bezalel Art School and dates to the early 20th Century. This item is a great gift for a Judaica collector!

Dreidels are also known by the Hebrew word “Sevivon” that means “top” in English. The letters on the sides of this Dreidel are an acronym for the phrase “Nes Gadol Haya Sham” and means “A great miracle happened there” in English. This Dreidel was likely made with the Diaspora Jewish community in mind because of the letters used.

This Dreidel comes with a certificate from the Israel Museum as well as a small pamphlet with background information in Hebrew and English.
