Located in the mountainous country of the upper Galilee, Dalton Wines was established in 1995 when the English Haruni family came to settle in Israel. Initially the winery was situated from improvised vineyards in Moshav Kerem Ben Zimra where it produced 20,000 bottles. Today the winery sits on its own property overlooking the Hula Valley where the produce 800,000 bottles of wine annually. All wines produced at Dalton wineries are Kosher and Kosher for Passover.
Dalton Wines winemaking team is led by Naama Sorkin. Sorkin grew up in North Israel and comes from a family with close ties in the wine industry. Na’ama joined Dalton in 2002 after completing her studies at the world famous Roseworthy faculty at the University of Adelaide. Joining Naama is Australian wine consultant John Worontschak. John has been with the winery since its establishment in 1995.
Dalton Winery is located in an exclusive area of the Upper Galilee (Merom Hagalil). The vineyards of Kerem Ben Zimra reach an altitude of between 800 - 900 meters above sea level. The combination of high altitudes and volcanic plateau create optimum soil conditions and a unique climate that are ideal for growing grapes in Israel. The cold winters and hot summer days with cool summer nights allow for essential dormant periods during the winter and a steady maturing rate in the summer to produce the best grapes for excellent wines. Dalton Winery is the only winery situated in this area, and is one of the only wineries in Israel located minutes from all its vineyards. This allows them to monitor the vines throughout the year resulting in kosher wines that are as pure as it can be.
Dalton Wines offers a wide selection of varietals, or types of wines. The Winery grows each varietal in their vineyards. The two largest sites for the winery are in Meron and Safsufa where they have planted Cabernet, Merlot, Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc, Barbera and Zinfandel. In addition the also grow Chardonnay grapes in Kerem Ben Zimra. Dalton winery continues to expand their vineyard with new varietals.
The current varietals that the winery processes are: Cabernet, Merlot, Shiraz, Barbera, Zinfandel, Petit Sirah, Cabernet Franc Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Viognier and Muscat.

Winemaker Naama Sorkin, who comes from an Israeli wine family and has a background in technical expertise and international work experience, leads the team. She is aided by John Worontschak, an Austrailian wine consultant, who has both technical proficiency and a global viewpoint.
The Golan wine uses grapes from vineyards in the Upper Galilee. Dalton Winery is the only winery in the area – in fact there are no other wineries located within minutes of any of its vineyards. Therefore, Dalton is able to monitor the vines throughout the year and to immediately process the grapes as soon as they are picked, resulting in Kosher wine, as pure as it can be.
